At its 25th anniversary celebration gala earlier this month, the Center for Women in Transition announced that the organization would be changing its name as it embarks upon its next quarter-century in the St. Louis community.
Our new name, Keyway: Center for Diversion and Reentry, authentically aligns with what our mission is today. Keyway empowers justice-involved individuals who are ready to transform their lives. We don’t offer a quick fix, but we provide the toolkit necessary to make a change and act as a guide on each woman’s journey.
"When I think about the name Keyway, I think about a pathway," said executive director April Foster. "And when I think about our women — a lot of the time they know where they want to go; they just need the path to get there."
Keyway is still the same organization and will continue to provide comprehensive, evidence-based services that are trauma-informed and women-centered.
With this name change, you can continue to believe in our mission and support us the same way you always have, knowing that we are looking forward to the next 25 years, focused clearly on meeting the critical needs of women reentering our community.
You will start to see our branding and messaging transition to Keyway over the next several weeks.
